Frequent Questions

1) What should I wear?

Depending on the type of shoot you are doing, dress like yourself. Family shots work well if everyone is coordinating, not necessarily matching. Seniors should bring clothing of all types and colors including casual, dressy, formal, and funky. Pregnant mothers should bring one black and one white of each tank top/tube top. and bra, jeans and black pants, and anything else they want to be photographed in. Children should dress in clothing that fits well and appropriate for the type of shot (ie. outdoor shots- not so great for puffy white dresses) The more clothes to choose from the better. All I ask is to stay away from large graphics and logos that will distract from the subject. These are your photos, so wear what you would want to hang on your wall.

2.) What about makeup ?

I offer makeup and hair services, but should you choose to do your own here are my personal tips.

  • Don't overdo it. You want to look like yourself.
  • Darker lipstick can work well for photographs, but the wrong shade can scream “LIPSTICK”, instead of accentuating your lips.
  • Heavy dark eyeshadow applied wrong can make your eyes look tired. Try a light shimmery shade along your lash and brow bone with a darker shade (preferably coordinating with your outfit) in your crease.
  • Mascara is your friend. We want to see those lashes.
  • Don't go for a waxing the day of your shoot. The red and puffy look is never too pretty.
  • Age appropriateness is so important. Light lip gloss is more than enough for little girls, and body glitter wasn't made for Grandma!
  • If you are unsure, feel free to ask. I can take a test shot of you in that bright orange lipstick you just bought, and show you how it looks on my camera. Then you can decide for yourself if it's the look you are going for!

3.) Do you offer single sheets or packages ?

Both. Packages are a great option for getting more for your money. Depending on the type of shoot, the session fee and package prices differ.

4.) Do you offer enhancements ?

I offer many enhancements including black and white, sepia, colorization, special effects, text, and wrinkle or scar removing. While many places charge a fee for enhancements, this offer is included in your package price.

5.) How do I order photos ?

After editing the photos, we can meet and go over the photos together or you can view them online.

6.) What if I am not pleased with the photos ?

I will do everything in my power to provide you with special keepsakes, that you will cherish. If for any reason you cannot find any photos you want to purchase, I will offer you a reshoot or refund your session fee. Hopefully, this will not be an issue.
